Our mission
​設立趣旨

"The Virology "Wakate" Network is officially recognised by the Grant-In-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas 'Neo-virology'. In 2019, the network was launched by postdoctoral researchers involved in Neo-virology.
Our mission is to facilitate long-term network and promote research among early-career researchers and students on virology. We aspire to create a future research foundation to understand the roles of viruses and virus-like genome sequences existing in various environment and organisms beyond their pathogenicity.

ウイルス学若手ネットワークは、2016－2020年度新学術領域研究「ネオウイルス学」の公認団体です。ネオウイルス学に参画するポスドクを中心に、2019年に結成されました。本会はウイルスを基軸としたキャリア初期研究者・学生の長期的な人脈形成、ならびに研究の促進を目的としています。様々な環境や生物に存在するウイルス・ウイルス様配列の役割を、「宿主への病原性」に限らず広い視点で捉え、これからの研究を行うための基盤形成を目指しています。

Our activities
​主な活動内容

We organize social networking events and symposiums at various academic conferences. We are also seeking interactions with other early-career researcher's committees. These events provide a platform for discussion on a wide range of topics, including trends in virology, technologies and future career paths. These opportunities are open for everyone including the researchers in other disciplines. 
 
情報共有やディスカッションを行う交流会のほか、各種学会でのシンポジウム開催を予定しています。また、他領域の若手の会と交流する企画を構想しています。幅広いウイルス研究の潮流や基盤技術の情報共有に加えて、将来のキャリアパスなど様々な話題について議論できる場を設ける予定です。ウイルスを研究している方はもちろん、ウイルス研究に興味がある方、他分野の方も大歓迎です。
